Dr. Hamza Mitha MBChB, D.A, CCFP, FCFP

Dr. Mitha is owner and medical director of Jewel Medical Clinic. He obtained his medical degree from the prestigious University of Natal, Nelson Mandela School of Medicine in Durban, South Africa in 1997. Following his graduation, he completed his residency in South Africa. Dr. Mitha also holds a Diploma in Anesthesia (DA) from the Colleges of Medicine South Africa. After his training in South Africa, he briefly worked as a locum in Scotland before immigrating to Canada in 2001. In Canada, he dedicated four years to rural family medicine in Saskatchewan, providing essential healthcare services to the local community. He served as an ER Physician at the Victoria Hospital and as a Family Physician at the Associate Medical Clinic in Prince Albert. Dr. Mitha's commitment to medical education is evident by his position as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan from 2001 to 2004. In late 2004, he relocated to Edmonton, where he has been practicing at his current family practice. Dr. Mitha is also a proud Certificant (CCFP) and Fellow (FCFP) of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Dr. Mitha's leadership qualities are evident through his previous role as director on the board of the Edmonton North Primary Care Network from 2013 to 2019. Dr. Mitha has extensive experience and training in the administration of neuromodulators (for cosmetic purposes, migraines and excessive sweating), and dermal fillers, and is certified by the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine (CAAM). With his experience and commitment to delivering quality care, patients can trust in Dr. Mitha's expertise for their aesthetic and medical needs.

Dr. Qudsiyyah Bhayat MBChB, CCFP, FCFP

Assistant Clinical Professor at the Clinical Faculty of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta

Dr. Bhayat graduated medical school from the University of Natal, Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, Durban, South Africa in 1999 and completed her residency in South Africa. She immigrated to Canada in 2002 and worked in rural family medicine in Saskatchewan for three years before moving to Edmonton where she has been with Jewel Medical Clinic (formerly Alliant Medical Clinic/TJ Medical Clinic) since 2005. In her scope of being a specialist family physician, she is trained in neuromodulator administration and has been providing this treatment for chronic migraines, excessive sweating and cosmetic purposes with over thirteen years of experience, having trained with world renowned experts. She is certified by the Canadian Association Aesthetic Medicine (CAAM). Additionally, Dr Bhayat is Assistant Clinical Professor at the Clinical Faculty of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta, teaching medical students at the clinic. In the past she has co – authored Tools for Practice articles and continues to strive for the best in professional development.

Dr. Colin Berney BMBS, LMCC, CCFP

Dr. Berney began his career in healthcare after graduating from the Nursing After Degree program at the University of Alberta in 2008. He gained valuable experience working at the University of Alberta Hospital and Stollery Hospital Emergency Room for several years. However, he felt compelled to further his education and pursue a medical degree, which he successfully obtained from the University of Limerick in Ireland in 2016. Driven by his strong desire to settle down near his family and friends, Dr. Berney returned to his beloved hometown of Edmonton, where he completed the Family Medicine Residency program in 2019. He has experience working in the Opioid Dependency Program and strives to provide quality, long-term care for all his patients.
